Our Venues

The Gallo Center for the Arts boasts two state-of-the-art venues—the 1,248-seat Mary Stuart Rogers Theater and the 440-seat Foster Family Theater. The front plaza is also home to the outdoor Modesto Rotary Music Garden. These unique spaces enable the Gallo Center to present a wide variety of arts, entertainment and educational experiences.

Mary Stuart Rogers Theater

The Center’s main 1,248-seat hall is designed to accommodate a wide spectrum of programming ranging, from world-class classical music recitals to full-scale Broadway touring productions, and everything in between.

Foster Family Theater

This intimate 440-seat space is ideal for music and dance recitals, spoken word presentations, theatrical plays, community events and smaller-scale presentations. The Foster Family Theater also is home to four productions each season by the Gallo Center Repertory Company.

Marie Damrell Gallo Grand Lobby

The Marie Damrell Gallo Grand Lobby has three levels and provides stunning views of downtown Modesto through arched, floor-to-ceiling windows. The Marie Damrell Gallo Lobby’s three floors are available individually or separately for events. The main lobby on the first floor can hold 1,000 guests standing; the second floor, 309 guests; and the third floor, 246 guests. These spaces can also be used for seated luncheons or other hosted events.

Gallo Center Plaza

The Gallo Center Plaza has been the scene of many spectacular outdoor celebrations, notably the Center’s famous grand opening as well as festive galas. It is often used as a staging area for community events including the annual “Love Modesto” gathering and Haven’s “Walk-A-Mile in Their Shoes” fundraiser, among others. Approximately 9,000-square feet, the space is available to rent, and we would be delighted to discuss your idea for Gallo Center Plaza occasion.

Modesto Rotary Music Garden

Opened in 2021, the Modesto Rotary Music Garden is a popular downtown destination serving local families, nearby office professionals and tourists alike. This outdoor flexible-use space is home to free public arts programs throughout the year, including the popular Brown Bag Summer Concert Series, showcasing outstanding local musicians and presented by RED Inc. Architects.
